TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
On the surface, the vision I have is to present the curriculum as a technology program but with the underlying objective to focus on enhancing student’s aptitudes and concentrating on the modern day skills that they should possess.

I understand that not every student is going to be interested in learning how to code or care how to plumb a bathroom sink. The goal, therefore, is to focus on context, as well as content. Encourage them to approach things in a different way and tap into their 21st century skills.
Of course I will hit on all of the key material aspects.
Students will become familiar with terms, definitions, common practices, real life applications, and all that is involved, but above all, I want the students to come away with skills that are transferable into their everyday life.
I do not consider myself to be entirely in the business of creating coders, electricians, or engineers. What I will aim to develop are individuals who can work together, think, and
figure stuff out. Beyond that, if I have some students who show a keen desire to learn more about a particular subject matter, then I will provide them with differentiated/advanced instruction and work to enhance their interest. Still, for the most part, my objective will be to develop every student's working skill set.
I believe this approach can be applied to students of any age and academic level. While the content and material may differ in accordance to grade and level of understanding, the basic premise of working together, communicating, thinking critically, being creative, taking initiative… are skills that must be cultivated in all of our students.
Throughout this process, I look forward to elaborating on my philosophy and discussing this further.
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL COMPONENT
Aside from helping students enhance their 21st century skills and teaching content, as a teacher of young minds, I am fully aware of the fact that everyone comes from different environments, and everyone is dealing with their own set of issues.
It is my mission, above all else, to ensure that every student feels welcome and safe. That they are heard and recognized, not just for the students they are, but for the people we know they can become.
Caring for one another, dealing with emotions, relationship building, showing empathy towards others... these are the principles that I embody in my classroom.
